Skype installieren

Ich versuche seit 2 Tage Skype zu installieren.

In oktopi auf Anhieb nichts gefunden.

Zuerst hab ich das Firefox Addon probiert. Das war garnicht online im Hintergrund, sondern nur wenn ich es geöffnet hatte. Unbrauchbar. Soll ja ständig laufen, falls mich einer erreichen will.

Zweiter Versuch die Webversion in einem angepinnten Tab in Firefox. Auch die war nicht immer online. Man musste die Seite aktualisieren um wieder online zu sein. Eine Kommunikation funktionierte nicht mit einem Kumpel, der jetzt auch manjaro zu Testzwecken auf einem Rechner hat und mit oktopi über AUR installiert hat (ohne Abhängigkeitsprobleme). Weder Text noch Audio kamen bei mir an. Von ihm mit anderen Windows Skype Leuten ging es aber incl. Audio und wahrscheinlich auch Video.

Dritter Version Installation über AUR. Hab ne Weile gebraucht, bis ich gesehen habe, dass ich nicht nur auf Ansicht/Repository/AUR klicken musste, sondern auch noch auf den Alienkopf. Dann tauchte skype in der Auswahl auf. Auf Installieren geklickt:

No problem, @catalin.hritcu. It's most definitely a hack! I'm not familiar with aura, but I have no idea why it would attempt to downgrade lib32-qt4. The version required by skype isn't specified in its PKGBUILD. (And then your output later says "upgraded", but perhaps that's just a typo.)

FWIW this new PKGBUILD for skype is meant to be totally compatible with the later lib32-qt4 (4.8.7-6), and both co-exist fine on my system.

@catalin.hritcu here I use the "yaourt" AUR helper, which has no trouble with it and doesn't try to downgrade lib32-qt4. Looking at what the PKGBUILD does, aura downgrading your lib32-qt4 may be a bug you might want to report to the aura authors.

I hope that we will move to another open and Linux-friendly program for chatting. This hassle of changing Skype platform provides an opportunity to convince people to get rid of Skype.

Hab dann "A" für Abbrechen geklickt.
Da mein Englisch auch nicht so dolle ist, verstehe ich das nicht richtig, was da so steht.
Es scheint so zu sein, dass es wohl geht, das beide Versionen von lib-32qt parallel existieren können. Aber ich weiß nicht wie ich das mache.

Alle Fragen mit Return beantworten, bis auf die sudo Passwortfrage die natürlich mit Deinem Passwort dann weiter mir Return!

Installieren kannst Du qTox so

@Rhinoceros  Many thanks for the fix. It's a bit of a hack and it confuses my package manager (aura), but I could use it with `makepkg` after installing the broken version of lib32-qt4.

Ich habe abgebrochen. Ich will keinen Downgrade wenn da steht es geht auch ohne Downgrade.

Wie hat der das hinbekommen, dass beide Versionen auf seinem System sind. Bei meinem Versuch soll immer ein Downgrade stattfinden.

Wieso geht das bei ihm ohne Probleme und ohne Downgrade? Wie macht der das?

Hallo Peter,
brichst du da nicht zu früh ab? Das was Du da siehst, sind doch erstmal Kommentare von Usern und yaourt hat noch keinen Ton von downgrade gesagt.
Wenn ich das recht interpretiere, so kommt die Downgrade-Meldung von User catalin.hritcu, weil er nicht yaourt sondern aura benutzt:

"Here is the aura error for the record:
aura = Building `skype`..."

und z.B. der User ronjouch empfiehlt ihm, yaourt zu benutzen, das keine Probleme mit Skype hat:

"I use the "yaourt" AUR helper, which has no trouble with it and doesn't try to downgrade lib32-qt4."

Probiere es also einfach nochmal (kein Abbruch bei "PKGBUILD bearbeiten?" und Du solltest dann in etwa diese Meldung erhalten:

Da habe ich dann abgebrochen, weil ich mir das dann doch nicht antun wollte, aber Du kannst ruhig weitermachen. Sollte yaourt dann tatsächlich noch ein Downgrade androhen (was ich nicht glaube) kannst Du immer noch Nein sagen.

Skype for Linux Alpha

There is a new Skype for Linux Alpha, which is basically the web version at web.skype.com in a wrapper. It has working text, (group) voice, and video chat (video only between Linux clients, as of version 1.10).

Install it with the skypeforlinux-binAUR package.

Eigentlich eine einfache Sache. Aber von mir gibt es keine Hinweise.
Erst über Linux maulen, die Konsole nicht haben wollen aber als erstes ein MS Produkt ins System prügeln wollen.
Peter, weißt du überhaupt, was AUR bedeutet? Eine feine Sache, wenn man weiß was man macht und sich ggf. zu helfen weiß. Davon bist du weit entfernt.

Danke gosia - es läuft!
Es funktionierte übrigens genau so, wenn man in oktopi auf den Alienkopf klickt, skype sucht und installieren klickt. Es öffnet sich das selbe Konsolenfenster und lief dann sauber durch, wenn ich bei PKGBUILD bearbeiten "n" eingegeben habe. Warum auch nicht, es wird ja yaourt verwendet.
Text, Audio und Video, Hinweistöne, Hinweiseinblendungen funktionieren. :-)

Ist das nicht ein bisschen widersprüchlich keine Hinweise zu geben und sich dann zu wundern, dass der Andere es nicht weiß? Also ich bin neu bei manjaro/arch. Auf jeden Fall sehr amüsant die Einstellung. Meldet sich in einem Forum an und schreibt, dass er keine Hinweise gibt. 
Ich habe einige Leute in den Skypekontakten, von denen ich keine weiteren Kontaktmöglichkeiten habe. Deshalb war mir skype wichtig. Als ich damals skype installiert hatte, war skype plattformübergreifend und gehörte gar nicht zu Microsoft...
