Lightning calendar addon with thunderbird 52

With thunderbird 52.0 (currently on unstable branch) the calendar plugin lightning has been integrated into the main application. If you have been using lightning already, your existing profile however will not contain the new plugin and thunderbird will complain about the old addon not being compatible.

The procedure to use the new addon goes like this:

Close Thunderbird

To be on the safe side I recommend you backup your ~/.thunderbird folder. You can just copy it and rename the copy to whatever you like or store it in a different place. Then:

Launch Thunderbird, go to the addons-manager and remove the lightning plugin (not just deactivate, remove it)

Close thunderbird

Now copy the folder /usr/lib/thunderbird/distribution/extensions/{e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103} to your profile. So to ~/.thundebird/xyz123.default/extensions/

Relaunch Thunderbird

It will now (strangely) ask you if you would like to accept a 3rd party addon to be installed. Say yes and confirm to relaunch thunderbird once more.
Lightning should now work as usual and will be upgraded together with thunderbird in the future.

Na ja, ich hab's mal durchgezogen obwohl Lightning bereits mit englischer Sprache funktionierte. Der Kalender ist vorerst weiterhin in Englisch. Wird sich wohl in den kommenden Tagen auch noch ändern, denke ich.

philm hat sich diesbezüglich geäußert. https://forum.manjaro.org/t/testing-update-2017-04-10-mesa-xorg-server-thunderbird-haskell/21501/19 Eben ein bisschen warten und mit dem bisherigen Kompromiss leben. Dafür reicht mein Englisch allemal.
