I am happy to announce another Stable Update. Mostly we have updates for our second release candidate of Manjaro 18.1.1.

Pamac 9.0 with Snap-Support ist now officially out!

Update news
This update holds the following changes:

Most of our kernels got updated. Note that linux52 is now marked as EOL
we fixed some more issues of Pamac 9.0 series. To have snaps, install pamac-snap-plugin.
Mesa 19.2.1 got rebuild agains LLVM 9, which should make our Navi10 users happy.
Firefox got renewed
KDE Apps 19.08.2 got released
The usual updates and improvements and upstream package renewals
Manjaro 18.1.1-rc2 got released! Please test and give us feedback: gnome , kde , xfce
Latest efforts by KDE can be reviewed via our current KDE-Dev ISO or current KDE-Vanilla ISO

Known issues and solutions

xfce4-power-manager does not open / upower fails
Install kernel 4.14 or higher (4.14, 4.19, 5.2 [EOL], 5.3)

There is an issue with upower 0.99.11-1 on kernels 4.4 and 4.9.

xfce4-terminal / guake / gnome-terminal does not open
Update to vte3 0.58.2-1 or install kernel 4.14 or higher (4.14, 4.19, 5.2 [EOL], 5.3)

There is an issue with vte3 0.58.1-1 on kernels 4.4 and 4.9.

Replace linux51 with community/linux-latest ?
linux51 is EOL and has been removed from the repositories. It will be replaced by a metapackage which will from now on keep you on a maintained kernel.

If you want to keep the old kernel and modules then include them in your pacman.conf's IgnorePkg.

pip behaves differently
Downgrade to 19.0.3. This experiment is apparently a total failure and from the responses it's not worth trying to improve the wider ecosystem.

Hab zwischenzeitlich nach Deinstallation von Bleachbit und Löschen von /usr/share/bleachbit (root)
mit sudo pacman -Syyuu die Installation neu gestartet, hat auch fehlerfrei geklappt

Mal schauen, ob Bleachbit wieder ins System darf

Ja, mit dem letzten Update habe ich ein Problem. Ein Update ist nicht mehr möglich. Als Fehlermeldung erscheint, dass p11-kit 0.23.20-4 bereits installiert sei. Eine Entfernung ist aber nicht möglich. Letztlich kann ich so gar kein Update ausführen. Es handelt sich um Manjaro 19.0 Xface.

Der Rechner ist ein Barebone von NUC (5i3RYH).

Das ist leider nicht das erste Mal, dass es mit Manjaro nicht weiter ging. Zugegebenermaßen bin ich reiner Anwender ohne tiefere Kenntnisse. Nun muss ich mir überlegen, ob ich mir eine aktuellere Version von Manjaro besorge oder dann doch wieder auf Mint, Ubuntu o. ä. umsteige, wo nach meiner Beobachtung Updates seltener in der Katastrophe enden.

Es wird Hilfe angeboten, die aber keine Hilfe ist, sondern weitere Verwirrung stiftet, weil der Text ganz offensichtlich maschinell übersetzt wurde. Zum Glück habe ich noch einen Rechner mit einem aktuellen Ubuntu und Mint zur Verfügung.

Hinweis: Ich hatte in der Vergangenheit manchmal gleichlautende Fehlermeldungen; habe dann die entsprechenden Dateien gesucht und als root einfach umbenannt oder aber den Update-Befehl mit --force ergänzt, z. Bsp.: sudo pacman -Syyu --force ...

Die Option --force wurde durch --overwrite ersetzt.

Danke für die Hinweise. Ich hatte es inzwischen mit sudo rm p11-kit-trust.so
versucht. Und damit war das Problem gelöst. Da ich mangels Kenntnissen nicht so in die Tiefen schaue, probiere ich nur mit größter Voricht. Auf jeden Fall ließ sich nach dem Löschen von p11-kit-trust.so das Update durchführen und Manjaro läuft auch weiter.
