Erstmal Dank für die vielen Bemühungen. Der Link von LQ ist richtig, daher habe ich es. Daß die Partition direkt ins eigene Homeverzeichnis eingehängt wird, war nicht meine Idee, ich fands aber praktisch, weil ich alle Daten automatisch auf einer anderen Partition haben wollte - auch Anwenderdaten. Das hat auch bisher problemlos funktioniert, weil ich es gleich zu Anfang gemacht habe. Den Inhalt des ursprünglichen home-Verzeichnisses habe ich einfach rüberkopiert.
Ich habe damals nicht verstanden, daß der Abschnitt bei Ubuntuusers für eine Partition gar nicht gedacht war. Im übrigen war mir bis eben auch der Unterschied von UUID und PART-UUID nicht klar.
blkid ergibt (die problematische Partition ist sda5):

gparted erkennt sda5 nicht, in der Rubrik Dateisystem bekomme ich "unbekannt" (das Dateisystem ist ext4). Dazu die Info

Das Dateisystem wurde nicht erkannt! Mögliche Gründe sind:
- Das Dateisystem ist beschädigt
- Das Dateisystem ist GParted nicht bekannt
- Es ist kein Dateisystem vorhanden (nicht formatiert)
- Der Geräteeintrag /dev/sda5 fehlt

fstab habe ich jetzt aufgrund der Anleitung von gosia oben und des Artikels im archlinux-Wiki in zwei Versionen umgeschrieben, einmal so:

und einmal so, daß in der letzten Zeile statt PARTUUID UUID steht. Beides funktioniert nicht. Beim Hochfahren von Festplatte bekomme ich die Meldung, daß die Partition nicht gefunden werden kann.
Also offenbar ein Problem, daß mit fstab gar nichts zu tun hat!?
